About Vanderbilt CRU

“We are an authentic community of Christ-followers committed to shining the light of Christ at Vanderbilt and around the world.”

What does this mean?

“authentic community”: We are real people – seeking to be honest about ourselves, our journeys, our fears, our doubts, and our hopes. We desire to be a ‘come-as-you-are’ kind of people. And we want to journey not as lone rangers, but together – with a band of friends, and as a Body of Christ. We long to live out grace and truth in relationships.

“Christ-followers”: We have come to know and love Christ. And we want to continue to know and love Him more and more – in a way that leads to real life change and real action. He is the One we follow.

“shining the light of Christ”: We are image-bearers of God. We desire to live out that reality in our words and our deeds; in our relationships and our acts of service; in our attitudes and in our actions – on our campus, in our communities, and all around the world.

Vanderbilt is where we live and learn and grow.  Vandy students are the best and the brightest.

- Over 85% of Vanderbilt students graduated in the top 10% of their high school class.

- Vanderbilt students come from all 50 states and over 90 countries.

- Vanderbilt students go on to be world leaders in their fields: business, academia, politics, medicine, law, economics, science, education, public policy, and on and on.

Vanderbilt students have the opportunity to write great stories for themselves and for the world. And we believe God has written the Greatest Story of all. We desire to help students know how to navigate the intersection of their story with His Story.
